Junebugs and Serial Killers

For those of you that don't know, my dog is pa-thet-ic. You cannot just open the back door, let her out, and have her do her business. You HAVE to stand outside with her, or she is just staring at you through the door and will not go.

Mr A was recently out of town the other weekend, doing guy stuff with my Dad. That also happened to be the the night Baby Bear had a mini meltdown over a tornado warning.

Anywho, it was late and Little Miss Sunshine HAD to go out. I'm not going to lie, my backyard is pitch black at night. You cannot see anything! I'm never back there by myself, so I never really cared. Until that weekend. I knew I had to take her out. But I was really uneasy about it. All I could think was, if I turn on the light, I'm going to be attacked by dozens of junebugs. I was wearing my favorite fleece pajama pants. So those june bugs will buzz straight to me and stick to me like velcro, all the while being attacked by Little Miss Sunshine, as she jumps all over me prying each and every single one of them off me so she can play with them first, then squash them (not that I know this from experience or anything), or do I leave the light off  and wait for some serial killer to jump out from the bushes and stab me to death. What would you do?

Weekend Recap!

This weekend we had us some firsts! Friday we had Little Bears' fall festival. She really had a great time seeing her old teachers, and she wants me to hire all of them to babysit her. That would be one heck of an expensive night out! She doesn't ask for much, does she?

She was finally able to get her face painted for the first time! She had never really been too interested in it until this past summer.

Saturday, we took Mr A, the former northerner, to PF Changs for lunch. He had never been, and wanted to see what it was all about. (I had an incident in the parking garage, but we won't talk about that). He liked it okay, but didn't think it was anything super spectacular. I absolutely love their hot and sour soup!

After that we headed to my parents' house, which Baby Bear calls Poppy and Nanny. We then went and saw Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. It really is a must see. If you loved the first one, you will probably love this one even more. I loved the creativity!

Sunday, we completely took it easy. My lovely, and most favorite hairdresser came over and cut my hair. She is my heart, and nobody does it like she does. (more to come on this one)

After that, I called, politely, once more to have our AC fixed, and fixed right. Needless to say, as I am typing this, it is working. For how long this time? I have NO idea. We slept with the windows open last night. Thank goodness it was somewhat cool last night, but still sticky. It was fun getting ready this morning.

Oh, and I bought something I have not bought in several years; at least not since Baby Bear was born. That's at least 5 years!

Anyone that knows me, knows I am a complete Scentsy girl, but I just loved this scent, and I have not run into many fall scents they have that have met my taste. Amber Road is my go to fall scent for Scentsy, always, followed by Midnight Fig come December.

The best of all....I finished and turned in my very last assignment for my degree. Now on to the next one!

Why Men Shouldn't be Left in Charge

Yesterday, my little one stayed home sick with tummy problems. Mr A came home at noon so I could get to the office to finish things up for month end and prepare for our big office move.

I left him in charge with dinner. It was an easy pulled chicken recipe made in the crockpot. All you have to do is put all the ingredients together and cook on high for about 5 hours and it is good to go. Piece of cake, nothing to it. Dinner would be ready when I got home from work. After he threw everything together, and put it on high, he decided to take a nap.

On my way home I got a call telling me we need to figure something else out for dinner. I assumed he burned it; wouldn't be the first time we burned something in there. But that wasn't the case. He never plugged the darn thing in!
